How Bonus Buy Slots Work
You choose the buy option, pay the price and the bonus round starts. Some games offer several buys at different prices, for example a standard bonus and a super bonus with stronger features.
The RTP of a bought bonus is often similar to, or slightly higher than, the base game. What changes is the variance: you spend a large amount at once on a single round that can pay far less than it cost.
| Feature | What it does | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Standard buy | Starts the free spins | Often around 100x stake |
| Super buy | Free spins with better features | Much higher price |
| Ante bet | Raises stake to trigger the bonus more often | Not the same as a buy |
| UK rules | Bonus buy is not offered at UKGC-licensed sites | Available only offshore |
Before You Play
- One bought bonus can cost as much as a hundred normal spins.
- Bought bonuses often pay back less than their price.
- Check the RTP of the buy feature itself; it can differ from the base game.
Every spin has a negative expected return. Set a loss limit before you start, and never chase losses.

Is bonus buy available in the UK?
No. The Gambling Commission's design rules mean UK-licensed casinos do not offer feature buy. It appears at offshore sites.
Is buying the bonus a good idea?
It does not change the house edge in your favour. It speeds up the results and makes them swing harder.
